Classic Shades, Classic Styles

They say that sometimes the old fashioned ways are the best. And while this may not be true when it comes to subjects like womens’ rights and health care, that wisdom does not apply to sunglasses. No matter how you slice it, there’s something very special about the classic Ray Ban sunglasses that will keep them on our fashion radar forever.

Consider, if you will, the mighty Ray Ban aviators. Originally introduced in 1936 as an accessory for pilots, these glasses have become fashion icons. Early models of the Aviator had straight or flexible earpieces so that the glasses could fly off the pilots face without tearing his ears off in case of a crash.

These days, the Aviators have evolved into an entire sunglasses line. And while there are many sizes and colors to choose from, all of them have that same classic look that Douglas McArthur wore when he famously returned to the Philippines during WWII.

But probably the best known sunglasses in the history of sunglasses are the Ray Ban Wayfarers. These iconic frames are noteworthy for being the first plastic frames to find widespread acceptance. While they’ve been in out and of the mainstream, they always look good.

Whether you’re wearing standard lenses or prescription sunglasses, classic sunglasses, you can’t go wrong with Wayfarers and Aviators.
